He was awarded a Bronze Star for his actions during WWII, he was blacklisted in Hollywood in 1952 and then he was Oliver Wendall Douglas. Only in America. Quite a life. At 89, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and he died after a 10 year battle. The Purple Ball at Franklin Bridge was played for Eddie Albert.
