What is the greatest accomplishment one can hope for from a long life? I think it is being a beloved father, husband, and family member. My wife, Maggie’s uncle, John Kelly achieved these precious life goals. Father of six interesting, spirited, happy children all of whom are devoted St. Louis Blues fans; grandfather of 13; and married for 54 years to one of the kindest women, Noreen Lane Kelly, John Kelly loves to tell stories often about his family and relatives going back to those who emigrated from Ireland.
As John would transition from one story to another, he often would say “any who…” which would bring a smile to the face of his listeners. While the stories are slower these days due to Alzheimer’s, John’s smile remains. At Norwood Hill Country Club Joe Grunz (John’s nephew) and I played a purple ball for John Kelly.
