Purple Ball – Bill Buckner

In my basement I have a picture with Bill Buckner’s autograph. It sums up the man and how he embraced life. The picture is of the worst moment in his baseball career – the 1986 World Series against the Mets.

And yet he embraced it.

Yesterday as we played our front 9 we found out that he had died of Lewy Body Dementia. I played the Purple Ball at Pugatory Golf Club for Bill Buckner.
