Charlton Heston was born on Oct 4 (my birthday) in Evanston Illinois. He is known for making over 100 movies including Ben Hur which earned him an Academy Award Nomination. He also served in the Army Air Force aboard B-25’s during WWII. He died of Alzheimer’s. The Purple Ball at Calumet Country Club was played for Charlton Heston.
