Thirty one years ago, I took a job and started working with Randy Young. Even though Randy lived in Texas and I lived in Boston we became good friends because we traveled together quite often.
Our families even became friends after taking a trip to Hawaii together. When I announced that I was going to do 100 Days 100 Courses, Randy immediately signed up to play with me for 3 days in Dallas.

In talking about the cause I learned that Randy’s mother in law, Lillian Johnson also had the disease. When we arrived at Heritage Ranch I asked Randy if I could play for her and he said “Absolutely.” When we got to the third hole I asked Randy if he could handle the pressure of playing the ball for her. The proof is in the pictures. The Purple Ball at Heritage Ranch was played for Lillian Johnson.
